How It Started

On a hot day in June 2023, Brent and Taylor both decided to head to the pool at Asher apartments in Tampa with their friends. It didn't take long for Brent to wander over to Taylor's side of the pool and strike up a conversation, and even less time for him to cancel his afternoon plans entirely to stay and get to know her better.

As the sun started to set, he decided he wasn't ready for the day to end and asked Taylor on a date to Noble Rice, where they spent the evening laughing and learning about each other. They had their second date a week later (a boat day, of course) and the rest is history.

  • 7/11/2023"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Ceremony: We'd love for you to join us at 5:30 PM, when doors open and refreshments will be served. Take your time to sign our guest book, find your seat, and settle in, the ceremony will begin shortly after. We've chosen to keep our ceremony unplugged, so we kindly ask that phones stay tucked away. Let our photographers capture every moment, so you can simply be present with us.

Reception: Rather than a seated dinner, we'll have a cocktail-style reception with appetizers and food stations throughout the night. There will be plenty of food and drinks, plus indoor and outdoor seating. Expect music all night and a dance floor ready to go, so come ready to eat, drink, and dance the night away with us!

What to Wear

Coastal Formal
For the Ceremony
& Cocktail Reception
For Her

Think elegant, but not black-tie. Flowy floor-length dresses in soft, floaty fabrics, in coastal tones to match our late-spring setting.

For Him

A well-fitted suit in coastal tones and lightweight, breathable fabrics for a warm Florida night. Skip the tie if you'd like, but keep it polished.

Travel

Welcome to Fort Myers

We're so excited to have you join us for our wedding weekend. The Heitman House is in the historic downtown River District, and both hotel block options are a 15-minute walk to the venue. Below you'll find airport, hotel, and getting-around info, reach out with any questions!

Fly In

RSW

Southwest Florida Int'l

The closest and easiest option, about 20–25 minutes from The Heitman House and our hotel block. Served by most major airlines (Delta, American, United, Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier), so it's almost always the most convenient choice.

PGD

Punta Gorda

A smaller airport about 45 minutes north of Fort Myers, served primarily by Allegiant. Worth checking if you're flying from a city Allegiant covers, fares can be significantly cheaper than RSW.

Where to Stay

We've secured special rates at both hotels below. If the room type you'd like isn't showing as available, just let us know and we'll see what we can do.

The Banyan

Hilton

A boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Fort Myers' historic River District, surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops, and bars, old Florida charm with modern comfort, steps from everything downtown. Rooftop pool, on-site restaurant & bar, and fitness center.

The Luminary

Marriott

Part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, right on the Caloosahatchee riverfront. River-view rooms, a pool deck overlooking the marina, a fitness center, and several dining options including Silver King Ocean Brasserie, Ella Mae's Diner, and Beacon Social Drinkery, a rooftop bar with great sunset views.

Getting Around

We'd recommend renting a car if you're staying outside our hotel block or want to explore, Sanibel Island, Fort Myers Beach, and Captiva are all about 30 minutes away and worth a visit. All major rental companies (Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, Budget, National, Alamo) have counters at RSW. If you're staying at the hotel block and only attending wedding events, Uber and Lyft are reliable in downtown Fort Myers.

Things To Do

We've rounded up some recommendations to help you make the most of your time in Fort Myers. From the historic River District to beaches on the Gulf, here are a few places worth checking out.

Downtown River District

Steps from the hotels

You'll be staying right in it, so wander the walkable riverfront district for coffee, shops, galleries, and cafes. An easy Saturday morning before the celebration, no planning required.

Edison & Ford Winter Estates

2350 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers

The most iconic spot in Fort Myers. Tour Thomas Edison and Henry Ford's winter homes, gardens, and Edison's working laboratory. Plan a couple of hours, easy to combine with lunch or dinner downtown.

Sanibel Island

~30 min drive

One of the best shelling beaches in the world, about 30 minutes from downtown. Bring sunscreen, rent a bike on the island, and stop at Bowman's Beach or Lighthouse Beach. Good for a half or full day trip.
